Our story :

Once upon a time, in 1997, in the picturesque Charonne district of Paris, a stone's throw from the vibrant Bastille, there was an authentic Moroccan restaurant with the enigmatic name ‘Le Souk’. The mission of this magical place was to transport its guests on a sensory journey through the exquisite flavours and cultural richness of Morocco.

As soon as you crossed the threshold, an enchanting atmosphere gripped visitors. The walls were adorned with colourful lanterns, checkerboards and Moorish motifs, recreating the warm atmosphere of the Moroccan medinas. Each decorative element was carefully chosen to reflect the authenticity and hospitality of Moroccan culture.

At the heart of this culinary oasis, the founder, Lahlou, a passionate fan of Moroccan cuisine, had brought his know-how inherited from generations. The recipes were meticulously prepared, using spices straight from the souks of Marrakech. The menu, a symphony of tajines, couscous and pastillas, was a celebration of the finest Moroccan flavours.

The Souk had become a meeting place for gastronomic enthusiasts, lovers of the exotic and the curious in search of escape. Regulars delighted in the royal couscous, a veritable feast of flavours and textures, while newcomers were won over by the diversity of the dishes.

And so, year after year, Le Souk continued to charm Parisian souls in search of a moment of escape to the authenticity of a faraway Morocco.
